As Technical Director, David shares the responsibility for the performance and success of the practice with the Architectural Director, Clare Stagg.

David and Clare established the company in 2004 which has grown over the last 4 years to become a thriving RIBA Chartered Practice with 5 full time employees.

David commenced working life as an architectural technician over 20 years ago. With a desire to increase his knowledge and technical abilities, David then accepted a position as a Building Control Officer within the City of Sunderland and gained a great deal of experience and expertise in a full spectrum of building projects including residential, commercial and leisure developments.

Management experience was later attained whilst working as a Design Co-ordinator for a major Housing Developer. Responsibilities included the management of the clearance of approx 5000 derelict dwellings and acting as technical advisor for all new build or converted dwellings. In addition David led a team who were responsible for SAP calculations and Eco Homes ratings for the new dwellings.

This technical and management experience led to the realisation that establishing a practice was the next logical progression.
